Catch Moontricks live at The North Warehouse Tonight

If you ever see Moontricks live, you might be a bit surprised. Fellow PNW-ers Moontricks are swinging through The North Warehouse tonight in Portland. With a unique take on rugged folk music, it’s slated to be an exciting show.

Combining their love of folk, blues, and electronic music, Nathan Gurley and Sean Rodman of Moontricks are merging musical worlds that aren’t often acquainted. With Gurley at the production helm and Rodman on songwriting and vocals, they’ve birthed an authentically raw sound that infuses grassroots blues with wistful soul, and boot stomping bass.

The Vancouver-based duo has previously been one of the best-kept secrets in Canada’s festival circuit. Now with a couple of solid hits under their belt, they’re taking their sound worldwide. Currents, the group’s first full-length album, was released earlier this month. Intimate and dazzling, Currents is an album about feeling comfortably lost and finding joy in the act of seeking.

Their Sept. 15 at The North Warehouse in Portland will give new and old Moontricks fans a taste of their new album and dazzling live show. Their spirited live performances feature an assemblage of guitar, keys, banjo, and vocals atop their original productions.

From rural beginnings to global festival stages, this humble duo is now taking on the world. With their infectious vibe and unmistakable rhythm, Moontricks are clear proof that originality and passion can spark a creative movement.
