I have finally come to my senses. The WIFI here is so reliable my computer has not missed a beat, the smell of delicious coffee swirling around gives me an energizing boost before the caffeinated nectar even touches my tongue. I have come a long way from the comfy confines of my bed, and have accepted that my pillowy cloud is–in fact–not a great place for productivity and focus. If you are one of the few that can work or study in bed, I applaud and envy you. If you’ve come to the same realization as me and are looking for places to tune in instead of tune out, here are some of the best coffee shops to work from in Bend, Oregon.
The Best Coffee Shops to Work From in Bend
Looney Bean of Bend
The owners’ kindness alone would be enough to solidify the Looney Bean of Bend being my favorite coffee shop in town. The delicious coffee, smoothies, and pastries only solidify the triumphant placement of this café in my mind. The Looney Bean of Bend has ample seating both indoors and outdoors. But what makes this place stand out is its idyllic location on the Deschutes River, With a spacious back patio that faces the river, there is always enough seating, and the passing ducks somehow make work seem more pleasant. Keep an eye on their Facebook for live music events.
Kanona Café
Kanona Café makes you feel like you just stepped off of the beach to grab a quick refreshment. Their décor consists of surfboards, flowers, and a laid-back vibe. Seating inside can be limited here in the winters, while outdoor picnic tables and seating are available year-round for the brave. Located on the Westside of town, Kanona, proudly serving Coava Coffee, has maybe the best lavender latte and matcha I’ve ever consumed. They also offer an array of smoothies, protein balls and bars, and acai bowls for gluten-free and vegan seekers.
Lone Pine Coffee Roasters
Lone Pine Coffee Roasters, located on the Eastside in downtown Bend, is one of the top-tier places to get full-bodied and flavorful coffee. They have limited options for food compared to Kanona and Looney Bean, but they make up for it with their cafe’s layout. The massive glass door and windows allow for light to illuminate the interior, which helps keep one focused and alert during a work session. One of the doors is a glass, garage-like fixture that slides open when the weather is favorable. This feature allows for fresh air to filtrate throughout the place. The rotating art on the walls and wide-open space inside is an inviting and comfortable environment to tune in and accomplish your tasks at hand.
